Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Rytecall is an AI phone-answering service for UK trades businesses. It's provided by David Maxwell, trading as Rytecall ("we", "us", "our").

2. Scope
This policy covers rytecall.co.uk, the Rytecall dashboard, and our AI call-answering service — whether you're a Rytecall customer, or someone calling a phone number that Rytecall answers on a customer's behalf.
3. What data we collect
Account and billing data. Business name, trade type, contact name, email, phone number, and billing details. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number ourselves.
Call data. Call recordings (on plans that include them), transcripts, call metadata (date, time, duration, caller number), and the structured details captured during a call — caller name, callback number, address, and description of the issue.
Website usage data. We keep this deliberately minimal. rytecall.co.uk does not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Your light/dark theme preference is stored locally in your own browser and never sent to us.
Support communications. Anything you send us by email.
4. If you're a caller, not a Rytecall customer
If you call a business that uses Rytecall, your call may be answered by an AI agent, recorded and transcribed (where the business's plan includes recording), and the details you give — name, callback number, the reason for your call — are passed to that business so they can follow up. This is the core purpose of the service: helping the business you're calling respond to you properly.
5. How and why we use it
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Providing the call-answering service | Contract |
| Sending call transcripts and summaries | Contract |
| Processing payment and managing your subscription | Contract |
| Responding to support requests | Contract / Legitimate interests |
| Maintaining and improving the service | Legitimate interests |
| Complying with the law | Legal obligation |
6. Cookies and tracking
We keep this to the essentials. The only thing stored in your browser is your light/dark theme preference, which stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. We don't currently use advertising pixels or third-party analytics on this site.
7. Who processes data on our behalf
To deliver the service, we use a small number of trusted providers:
- Retell AI — powers the AI voice agent, call handling, and conversation logic
- Twilio — provides and routes the phone numbers and call connections
- Stripe — processes payments and manages subscriptions
- Our hosting provider — hosts this website and the backend that sends call summaries
These providers only process data under our instructions and for the purposes described here. Some may process data outside the UK; where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as their own UK/EU data protection compliance frameworks.
8. Who we share your data with
- The service providers listed above, so far as needed to run the service
- The business you called, if you're a caller (see section 4)
- Legal or regulatory authorities, where required by law
- A buyer, in the event Rytecall is sold or merged — your data would remain subject to an equivalent policy
9. How long we keep data
We keep call recordings, transcripts, and account data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and legal purposes, after which it's deleted or anonymised. If you'd like something deleted sooner, contact us and we'll action it, subject to any legal retention requirements.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure — if you believe your data may be at risk, contact us immediately.
11. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the data we hold about you, request correction, request deletion, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where relevant, and request data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@rytecall.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
12. Children's privacy
Rytecall is a business tool and isn't aimed at or intended for use by children. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes — please check back periodically.
